What does getting skunked mean to you? To me it's not catching anything. And I hear it a lot. I'm still fairly new to bass fishing so any bass I catch makes it a not skunked day.

Yeah this is basically what I thought I'd see. Some saying not catching anything...then some saying not catching a legal keeper.

I consider it not catching anything at all. If you go to Fork and catch 200 bass within the slot, would you still consider yourself getting skunked? I wouldn't...

That was an exaggerated example...but if you did, would you consider it getting skunked?

Came really close to getting skunked at Amistad yesterday. 1 2.5lb bass and 1 8lb catfish, both on blue fleck worm.

If I am fishing for Bass, it means not catching a Bass. Hooking sandbass, grinnel, catfish, gar, turtles, or other fisherman does not remove the white stripe. Remember though, even the smallest bass you catch could be a future ShareLunker. You just caught it way too soon. So those little ones DO count. At least that's how we call it.
