FWIW - it is usually better to come in from the southwest into the cut anyway (good reason to fish the stump field first - note, you will see white flag on the "island" by the stump field). There are more hazards if you come into it from the south/southeast and don't be mislead - hazards can be far from shore. These hazards are what keep most p-boaters out of the cut. Based upon what Henry showed with the shad tail in the fish gullet and me foul-hooking this sizable gizzard in an area I immediately hooked a large striper, the bigger girls will hit a smaller lure like the blade but are after big bait. The bigger fish have come on bigger lures - keep that in mind during selection.

Lee, Henry, Roger and son we saw y'all taking off when we came in. I told David you guys would run into the big school we left with the cabin cruiser trolling all around them  David has put his Yak up for the winter and said " Man Keith, These guys are making me look like a pansy --LOL--" I told him he better get it back out, watch the weather and wait for days like sunday  Congats to your son and way to go yakers

Seriously, he did well, even tried to net while hanging onto the fish - no fear - kudos. You do realize you've created a monster - new yak every year for him. Wait, if you do hand-me-downs, that means YOU get a new yak every year. Great plan!

Henry that was awesome! Your son did great and I think you handled that fine. You contained your excitement and your Fatherly instruction a lot better than I would have. I would have had to add music to my video. I got excited just watching.

Now Jerry - you know that's not how I roll.....I want everyone to catch fish - and big fish......in fact, I remember watching you fish and thinking to myself "I sure hope Jerry catches something.....anything......please God, grant my wish. And if you can't do that, at least help him untangle that bird's nest". I was hopin' that fish would go even bigger - at least 33". They're out there and I think Brandon may very well be the first to get one in the boat. How cool would that be?
