I have had some jump out of the water by the boat. But, never in it. Cool!

Four years ago I was fishing the deep grass with a jig saw some schoolers, reeled my jig up out of the grass as fast as I could, and had a four pounder follow my jig out of the water into the boat. I scared the poop out of me cause I wasn't watching my line I was watching the schooling fish,and all of a sudden there was this fish on the deck throwing rods every where.

I was catching at night off the bank and had a 12in catfish inside the basket, when I decided to go a 6Ib bass decided he wanted in the basket too! Threw them back though.

What?... What? you literally tried to scoop a fish you couldn't catch...? What? what part of bass fishing, in the sportsman code, could that that be considered ethical?

This is not survival, I'm assuming you didn't depend on that fish to survive for the next 2 days... why would you intentionally net a fish... while bass fishing?

Had a small 4" jump into my yak, same day I had about a 2# hit my shoulder on the yak. I grabbed it but it slipped out of my grasp. On the boat one jumped up and was on top of the gun whale but fell back in.

Was on Falcon a year ago and the trolling motor got caught in a gill net. I was desperately trying to get it off before the back of the boat swung next to the bank. I was in about 3 ft of water. Realize that I was not going to make it so I scurried over to the starboard side to keep the boat from banging on the rocks and when I lean over to grab the rocks a bass just over 3 lbs jumps in the boat and starts flopping in the bottom. Guess he got spooked and no where to go when the boat started pushing towards the bank. Scared the pee out of me.

Needless to say, he continued to flop in the boat while I got untangled. When I was free and clear, pitched it back in the lake.

Several years ago I was fishing a month long, online, catch, photo, and release tournament for kayakers, anywhere you choose to fish in Florida,24/7 for snook, seatrout, and redfish. I'm feeling good as I have a nice trout and redfish on the score card early in the tournament and just need one good snook to feel confident of a win. My main competitors are fishing out of the Tampa Bay area, I'm much further south fishing my favorite place in the world, Flamingo, Everglades National Park. The place is the closest thing I've ever found to Jurasic Park. In ten years of fishing the place 30 to 40 times a year for many years I had only seen less than a handfull of boats that ever came into the marina after dark.

Decide the last week of tournament I'll go catch my big snook at night. Arrive at ramp around midnight after 2 hour 100 mile drive from home in Hollywood, just north of Miami.

Dressed for the conditions with full mosquito netting from head to foot and drenched in Deet, I paddle out of marina and into darkness. Just enough moon light to see, afraid to turn on flashlight for attracting even more bugs, drone of mosquitos deafning. As I head towards the first spoil island I'm hearing the most unbelievable sounds of fish activity. Huge surface strikes like bowling balls dropped from sky, mullet showering all around. I'm mesmerized. Only made a couple of casts with Rapala Skitterwalk when a school of monster mullet come flying by, one of the fish in the lead pack hits me just under the armpit as I try to get out of their way. Almost knocks my breath out, mullet jumping over my bow. In fear and panic I paddle to a shallow bar in less than four inches of water to just listen and watch. I'm fifty yards from the mangrove island, mosquitos everywhere, hear the distinct sounds of monster snook poping in the distance, the sound of fish showering all over the bay, the tremendous sounds of what were probably tarpon and sharks blasting the mullet schools. I'm afraid to cast...seriously. I fear I will hook something that I didn't want to play with in that water at that hour. I sit there in amazement until I see a wall of mullet coming directly at me knowing I'm about to take a pounding. It only lasted for about three seconds but there were huge mullet trying to hide under my kayak, I could feel them tight against the hull in panic, mullet in the air, and one of the meaniest looking sharks right on their tail, mouth wide open as it hit me midship at such speed it nearly knocked me out of the kayak as I got jammed aground. A split second later no mullet or shark in sight. I waited a few minutes before daring to get out and put kayak in water deep enough to float, paddled back to my car, and drove the two hours back home.










Seeing stuff like this in daytime is one thing, at night its totally different.

Fought a snake that "tried" to get in my boat. If he had made it, I would have given it to him.

We were anchored off of Avalon at night catching barracuda every time we put a line in the water.
I felt something slam into my jaw and shortly after watched as a school of flying fish passed by.
I was first startled then amazed because I'd never seen them before.

A 3 pound flying fish can just about knock yer lights out.

Was fishing Grapevine around 2 a.m. And a smallmouth jumped right in the boat!!!! Also had a 9 inch largemouth jump in the section directly in front of the motor, I ended up finding it when I was fixing to leave, I hadn't noticed it and it had died.he Committed suicide..... haha
