Eeeewwww tunatamer that pic is a personal foul, 15 yds and loss of posting privileges. I would rather eat a chub, bonita, and jackfish salad. Cooda is like prime rib in comparison to that kind of male bonding... Questions to the gentlemen wise in years. What age separates the youngsters from the distinguished gentlemen? I have no doubt I fall in the youngster group but I want to know when I loose the title. I dont think I could blow up an Avet. I saw Mr. Bill's forearms in a pic demonstrating the bend in a jigging rod and I am certain he is capable of sustaining twice the drag I am. The only other way to blow one up would be to maintain it improperly.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

Charlie I think we are still ok with our hx's ,I have yet to hook anything they wont bring in ! well maybe that whale shark but that was on a stella . just wait till we're on the boat and these young uns start coming down off their red bull and monster highs and we will see who has any brain cells working ! some may not know sic em from come here ! LOL I think you can fish the whole gulf with a Stella 20000 and a HX 5/2 Raptor you might not keep a 100# AJ or Wausau off the rig but most anything else is going to get a broken nose ride to the top. I will drink my usual Margarita pain killers and fish all night, them young boys can have that day time bottom draggin. Unless we can find some Waahoos and Dorado playing in the weed patches.

I just completed the 29th anniversary of my 29th BD so am I old yet? Yall are too hung up on this Rhino dust, for the last time aint got none, aint had none & don't need none. If you wanna sniff something that bad... Go get you some fumuda cheese. Other than Claritin for hay fever & Potassium tabs to stop muscle knots from heavy fish battles on the boat I'm med free. Self administered Margarita anesthetic treatments not withstanding LoL Ain't gonna be no dang sissy group huggin krap in my Tuna Fishing future... that's for them 5wt fairy wand flingin fly fishermen at Stumpbroke Creek. Yall Gurlley Men go right ahead and fluff each other up... As for Tuna reels if it wont pull at least 20# at full drag leave it at the house its a crappie rig . Avet still has the most effective drag ever put on a production reel. The 50 wide T-rex Quad drag at 100#

On a more serious note the Flyers seemed to be smaller at the beginning of October. The 50# YFT I boated spat up a flyer so small it only had nubs for wings it was only about 4" long and a little thicker around than a pencil. The larger flyers were the size of the smaller Frenzy Ballistic Flyer 5-6" long.

I will guarantee we will get to the bottom of your fish loss problems and get you hooked up with some quality YFT this trip. We will attempt to trouble shoot your set up now before you get on the boat.
First off what brand and size popper are you using?
Does the popper have factory hooks?
What Line are you using Braid with Mono shock leader?
What Rod and Reel Combo?

Well I don't see any reason to blame the rig, lure or terminal gear, it's all proven to be excellent quality. My best advice is never reel or set the hook on a tuna unless it's taking line because you can take a topwater out of their mouth. I've had 5 or 6 blow ups back to back before a hook up and seen it happen to others numerous times. I will bring a Diamond hook hone so we make sure the hooks are deadly Tuna weapons.

There weren't a lot f Yellows caught in my trip but there were some good fish caught the top water bite didn't get good until the 2nd nigh but it was a blast to watch.. I know most the fish I had blow up were black fins but watching them knock that bait in the air 5-6 times in a row was fun... The fliers seemed to be on the smaller side that trip and I have since got some smaller profile baits to help match the hatch...
