I was shocked when I pulled up to the ramp at Fork a couple weeks ago and saw the water level. None of the other lakes (that I've been on) in the area are this low compared to their normal pool levels. So where's the water going if Dallas says they are not pumping?
I agree that the lake was built, as most are, to be a municipal water source, but I think someones giving the Lake Fork businesses and land owners the old "reacharound"

What is sad is you never see Ray Hubbard low. Too much money and influence there I guess. Ray Hubbard is pretty low as well.

Some folks will complain if they're hung with a new rope. Perhaps those of you complaining the loudest should go to the meeting and hear it from the horse's mouth. "I heard" and blah, blah, blah don't get it. Go to the meeting and find out the facts. There has been so much misinformation posted here on the subject I would think everyone with an interest in or around Fork would be thrilled that such a meeting is taking place.
Oh and Ray Hubbard is 6.64 feet below full pool and Fork is 5.84 below full pool. Do some research before you speak.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

It will be good to hear the "real" future plans for Fork's water. Hopefully, whatever the plan[s] may be, it will not have a long-term negative impact.

I just shortened a trip to make it back in time for this. (Daughters wedding)
I will take notes and make a short report of what was discussed.

I will be there also. Can't believe that anyone using the lake for recreation wouldn't want to be there. I went to the 1st meeting at the fire hall. I thought it was a good informative mwwting. I mean we all know the water is going to be used may as well know how and when..

I am planning on going unless I get tied up with the plumber and I still say it is a waste of time. I have a friend who lives in Santa Fe N.M. and their water restrictions are 365 days a year if a person abuses that their water is cut off.

We lose..they win..game over. Put your house up and move on.

Because it's a fact. Nothing we as sportsmen can do to change anything. The water belongs to Dallas. Sort of like Don Quixote!

Poeple around Fork that dont have a piss attitude say to City of Dallas:
Thank you Dallas People for prioviding the forsight to build this body of water and also the funds to build it since we did not. We appreciate the opportunity to build a tax base, create jobs, and have a great recreation area we do not own, basically pay nothing for, and are able to make a living on and around this asset.
And Dallas' response:
You are welcome, it is nice and we are glad we built it. You may use it as much as you want, but please stop bellyaching about us using our water, if we even are yet. I dont think we have used any yet, but if we did we probably needed it.

You have an excellent point. I think going to the meeting will at least educate some of the locals and do away with the constant rumors.

Any time spent on something that you are completely powerless over is wasted effort. what we say is irrelevant. What we think or do or want is irrelevant. They are going to do what ever they want and we are just going to bite the bullet and cope with the blowback. I'll be spending the evening with my family that night. I prefer not to have salt rubbed in my wounds. Just my .02
