I am just looking at "tournament season" 1st of March to say end of June. Cant think of another lake that can beat the average weights of Ray Roberts during that time.

Never happened.

Right. Second wasn't even 35 in that Pro Team. And regardless of what some say, the largest three fish Wednesday night stringer was like 27 1/2. But dang, it was fun swingin' in seven pounders.

Understood. I would say Ray Hubbard can match it for about two months, March and April. Other than that, I agree with you.

I forgot about the big sacks coming out of hubbard. Very true.

Grass is the key to RR. When we have grass the fish are big and healthy. When we don't, the weights go down a bunch. Still fish to catch, just not the numbers of big fish being caught.

I have lived here for 2 yeas and have only fished ray roberts a half dozen times but if I am going out to cacth 20+ pounds its the only lake here I have confidence to do it on. some days are tough but when its good IE: spring and fall, its damn good. I only have a few spots so for me grinding out pruductive areas is key to catching good sacks. On that lake its all about lookng for 5 bites all day. It reminds me alot of conroe in that aspect. if you are on small fish you need to move. the big fish seem to always be together so when you find one or two big ones you need to grind the area and not run all over lookng for some magic hole where 6 punders just jump in the boat. Just my 2cents.

I've fished the lake for 4 years now and I'm glad a lot of people don't like it!!! Stay away please so there will less pressure!! Its really not that hard to figure out read a map and fish seasonal patterns and you will catch fish. I've caught them on a drop-shot to 12 inch swimbaits.

Pretty sure it happened. I knew a few of the guys that were there. I am asking one of them when it was and what group.

I really wish the grass could be like it was in say 05ish. You could just drift and flat wear them out along the power lines on the back side of wolf. I only really remember two or three bad days on ray bob this was just because it was weather you didnt have any business being on the lake. All this aside i think its on of the better bass lakes in texas.

Blame the internet and the increase in anglers, don't blame Ray Roberts.
