James Haskins had 30.49 with a 9.06 BB. Tom Ward Had 15.17 for 2nd
We had 18 fish with us and paid 2 places Stringer and 1 place BB. Sure had fun. We paid out 90% at the ramp.
Congrats guys.
Next tourney is on Tyler.. Looking forward to seeing all of you again.

I happened go get close to him and caught one that weighed almost 6 lbs on a shakyhead. A few minutes later I caught a 4 pounder. I was looking at him, watching him slinging, and wondering why he wasn't picking up a worm since he had just seen me catch two good ones.
Little did I know he already had three or four fish in the livewell that would have eaten most of mine. LOL.
It was a fun tournament and a good payout for 18 entries. Our next one on Tyler won't be on top of McDonald's so I bet we'll have a better turnout and an even bigger payout.
Thanks to everyone who fished and especially to Weekender and Jim Guay for driving all the way up there to run the tournament even though they weren't fishing.

30.49 to be exact. Glad i stayed home. Sounds like he had them located. Danny, I was sorry you weren't there. My boat needs washing and I needed you to run by me like I was standing still again...your rooster tail would have helped.

I made a mistake in an earlier post. We are paying 500 to the AOY with the most weight after 4 tourneys. You don't have to fish all 4 and 300 for 2nd place AOY and again you don't have to fish all 4. Sorry for the confusion on my part. However it is true that to win the 300 for Biggest Bass caught in the series you do have to fish at least 3 of the 4.
Again I'm very sorry for the confusion on my part.
Thanks

Here are our top 10 in the standings after one tournament. Remember, the angler with the most total net weight after four tournaments will win a $500 bonus. Second place in total weight for the series will win $300. Big bass will win $300 provided the angler fished at least three of the four tournaments.
1. James Haskins...5 fish...30.49 pounds...big bass 9.06 pounds 2. Tom Ward...5 fish...15.17 pounds 3. Keith Davis...5 fish...14.70 4. Vince Alibrando...4 fish...12.85 5. Coy Spencer...4 fish...11.65 6. Garry Winton...5 fish...11.26 7. Dave Cahal...4 fish...9.92 8. Mickey Cauthron...4 fish...7.42 9. Jim Brack...4 fish...6.53 10. Bill McFarlin...3 fish...4.85
Call or PM me any time for complete standings or any other questions.
We'll be at Lake Tyler for our second of four events on Sunday, October 20. We paid $810 for two places this past Saturday afternoon. We won't be going head-to-head with McDonald's on Fork on the 20th so I would expect we'll pay even better on Lake Tyler. Not only will we once again pay out 90% at the ramp, but there's still a chance to get in on the year-end bonuses. I can't speak for James or anyone else, but I'm just as likely to lay a goose egg as bring in a decent sack on Tyler.
We hope to see you all there in three weeks.

We're two weeks away from our second open tournament of the series at Lake Tyler on Sunday, October 20. Our winner walked away with $572 cash last month on Pines, and we went up against McDonald's on Fork with its 2,700 entries that day. With a bigger turnout at Tyler we'll pay out even more cash at the ramp.
Remember, these are individual tournaments, only one person per boat. That means you can be selfish and not share your fish with your buddy who wants to go along! LOL.
PM or call me for rules, details, or any other questions.
See you at Lake Tyler on the 20th.

Time to play catch up... LOL!!!! Are we talking fishing or boats? If it's boats I concede. I'll just get out of the way and let you go by. You gonna fish Tyler with us?

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to lake Tyler marina from Jefferson... I'm thinking coming down I-20 from longview direction but I don't even know where the lake is as to Tyler area.
Thanks,

Take hwy 271 exit. Go south until loop323. Turn left and follow til hwy 110,/troup hwy. Turn left and follow until you het into whitehouse. Turn left on hwy 346 and follow signs to the lake. Its about 3.5 miles. The marina rd will be on your left.
