I use Vanish 6# I like the fall rate, it's seems more natural for a bug in water presentation I use 1/16&1/8 feather jigs Once and a while I try a plastic Lake Fork Baby Shad with a 1/8 jig head I strip off 8' to 10' of line after a trip due to line damage, that is it's down side and if you hook something really large they get your jig. I used to use 14# line for minnow fishing tree's before trying to learn jig only fishing, so there's a lot line choices. That's what I use,but I am a green horn on the forum though.

if you fish long enough , you will likely come back full circle to good ole mono, most times line color doesn't matter, but sometimes I think it does, if it adds up to 4 fish a trip being lost, Im don't want to lose fish if I know I can help it.
blue bell rocky road for me.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Saw Huckabee last year in Mesquite at the show. He showed his knot. Looked easy. Trying it now and like it....thanks Pepop for the referral to try something new.
Using the site for a while...this is really great to share fishing ideas and success with others.

6 0r 8 lb Hi viz yellow. Makes it easier to detect bites on the fall and lift bites. Color does not bother them.

I use the 12# bonehead braid, but I use a swivel in the line due to the bait spinning when jigged. I am experimenting with a snap/swivel at the jig to prevent this.

12# Bonehead braid orange. micro spinreel, tied straight to the jig. I use a 30" 8-6# flour leader. Might be a mental thing, but I feel like I get bit a lot more with the leader than without.

I will be honest here I fish with and without leaders. If the water is clear leader way to go. If the water has little mirky look to it strait to the jig. I like going strait to the jig when fishing brush. Takes the weak point out of the line.
