Does everybody else hate this as much as I do? Seems like it shuts them down for 3 or 4 days. At least we didn't get a bunch of rain with it.
Usually they will be tight on cover & will have almost lock jaw for awhile.

I have seen both a good bite and lock jaw after a front.
We need a bunch of rain...

I wouldn't say it unless I was there. Cody with BigCrappie.com took me out today on RR. We had to work hard but if a guy can get you on the fish on a day like today.... He can get you on fish any day. It took awhile but we flat killed them. Thump buddies bait. 14 ft of water on brush piles. Had a blast. We cleaned like 10 keepers and threw back around 50. With 25 mph gusts I think 10 good keepers is a win.

I had intended to start fishing around noon today. But my daughter called, the grandsons wanted a boat ride. I warned her it would be choppy but forgot to warn her it would be chilly on the water.
We met at the marina at 1:00 P.M. and I took them out. We went up to the dam and then started cruising along the dam. The water was not choppy there. But both boys decided they were cold and wanted to go home.
So my wife and I dropped them off, then went back to the lake. We decided not to go back out as the main lake was still rough. So I did some work on the slip while my wife fished the slip.
Around 6:00 P.M. I started fishing as well. It was extremely slow. We normally catch 30-60 undersize crappie at the slip fishing from around 3:00 P.M-10:00 P.M.
Today we did not catch a single crappie. We caught a 17" lmb and seven 10"-13" lmb. No crappie, no catfish, no white bass.
The lmb were hitting but nothing else were biting for us.

I didn't fish after this front. I was wondering about the transition from summer to fall and again I wish I had kept a better journal. After the last front I noticed both the crappie and bait moved to shallower water (8-12').
I've also realized that the better fishing isn't where I would always like for it to be. Letting go of my preconceived ideas of where they should be biting and reluctance to move to a different area of the lake has helped me catch more fish recently.
If I had fished right after this front I might have started with structure and contour changes in shallower water. I would also start by looking for those features on the "dam end" of the lake. Of course after not getting bit, I would switch to deeper structure and then go to the "creek end" of the lake. And after not finding them there i would conclude that I don't have the slightest clue as to where to find more of those dang crappie willing to bite!

Its not always bad, some times it turns them on this time of year. We caught around 70 this morning and kept our limit of 25 and tossed back several more. The big fish liked the front, kinda kicked them into their fall pattern.

Thank You for the motivation.
I'll give it a shot in the morning & see what happens.
I have a friend with a 9 year old. I wanted to wait a few days before I carried them out so they could catch some fish.
