It takes someone even more ignorant to vote some of these people into office.

Bingo - and remember to be careful about what you ask for. There may be unintended results.

I went out today and found the bass in shallow emergent stumps near deep water. This was a common occurrence last year as well. Caught 8 canyon lake specials (12 to 13 in.) . All were caught on Texas rig watermelon seed finesse worm. It was very windy for Jon boat today near boat ramp 6. I'm guessing some others had a very good day. The stumps I was fishing were in about 4 ft of water near a dropoff to about 20 ft.

I'm also guessing that a spinnerbait or a squarebill would have done the job.

Stripers schooling again today in the lower lake toward the dam, a mixed bag of hook-straighteners and barely 18 inchers, mixed with white bass in 80 to 100 ft water. They were eating very small shad, about 1.5 inches long. Bite was on and off starting at 08:00, they quit coming up at 09:30. The schools did not stay up long, so you had to chase them.

I upgraded the hooks on the Rebel jumping minnow. Yesterday the bigger stripers were bending the stock hooks all to hell.

It worked. Limited out by 9 am, schooling stripers...no small ones today.

Sounds like good fishing. I need to give that a try one of these days.
