I have a friend who lives in Cleveland and is a lawyer and also does drug counseling at his church. He viewed fishing in relation to the drug users he works with. He told me that striper is the crack cocaine of fishing. Black Bass is just marajuana and crappie is Beer.

I had never looked at fishing like that before. Well, I guess I am a striper fishing addict.

I can buy that. I went on a guided striper trip at Texoma towards the beginning of the year. Since then I've bought a pontoon, too many rods/reels, a lot of tackle, made bait wells (am now buying a grayline) and spend a lot of time researching stupid bait fish.

Prior to that, I had a smaller boat, a few rods/reels and would just go fishing for a few hours on the weekends. Now, I spend Friday night until sunday afternoon on my boat.

However, I'd be the guy snorting coke and it flying everywhere. I don't catch many striper, but getting better.

Our son stopped fishing with us because of that comment. DOH! I am an addict and a liar too?
