I hear Panama is a great place for Americans to retire

Was told they use the US Dollar as currency

Its going to be great. Supposed to be up to 100 fish Peacocks per day. No huge ones but some about #5.

There seem to be a pretty large number of americans retired there from what I saw. They do use US currency, just have different coinage but it is 1 for 1.

To the OP, I was there in March but didn't get to do any Peacock fishing. Make sure you enjoy the fruit (it's amazing, especially the little tree-ripened bananas) and I would stay away from cities like Colon.

When we were fishing there....It was not uncommon at all to catch near 100 in only a few hours...we would fish from early morning until around noon and come back with 20-30 keepers, keepers, not everything we caught...good hard fighting fish...very very tasty too!!

Kingfish we were there from 87-90 during the Noriega ordeal...we were on Davis

those are plantains and are delicious...yes, the dollar bill is the same there, they do have different coinage, but it still a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter...just different graphics on them

Not for Peackocks but if you ever want to go on the greatest and most reasonably priced blue water excursion, look no further than Tropic Star Lodge. 5 star all the way.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

If you are peacock fishing why not the Amazon?
