Hahaha! I like to think 95% of my views are female groupies just dying to meet me. Any day now I'm going to run into some gorgeous broad in the streets and she's going to scream "OMG that's YAK'N AGGIE!" and a stampede of women is going to chase me.

Aaaaaaaannnyyyy day now. rolfmao

Great video! I'm not ready for that much excitement so thank you for sharing! Sharks are no joke, I will take a snake over a shark any day.

I still remember the old days when we used innertubes to swim the bait out. Sometimes the man in the gray suit showed up early.

I saw this video earliuer in the week on TKF, and then again last night with the wife. I WAS going to go BTB at HI for the first time tomorrow. But after seeing this my wife freaked out and pleaded for me to wait longer. I cant say I blame her. The video was very revealing. Thanks man you saved me from myself.

Great video, very informational, as are all
your videos and post.

Continued success.

gulf weather:
A tropical disturbance in the northwest Caribbean should move into the Gulf of Mexico the next few days. The disturbance should move towards the northern Gulf coast and turn more to the northeast as a cold front approaches over the weekend. This system should not affect Texas but we will continue to monitor its progress.

Very educational video and I can say I've made most of those same mistakes...but never the shark over the shoulder hero shot. rolfmao

I do hope folks would at least make an attempt at getting hooks out of any fish they target. Those hooks regardless of type don't dissolve in salt quickly, fall out, or any of the other stuff you were taught as a kid. I'll never forget the first shark I accidently caught. A silky shark, skin just like a trout, with three large hooks and wire leader all still in different stages of decay with a chunk of grass attached. I went from being excited as it came up directly under kayak to being disgusted by all the hardware attached. Drug it back to shore and got all the hooks out.

Silky shark on shore to get hooks out but they make Dehookers or if you only use J hooks, you can sometimes use paddle blade in curve of hook and jam hook back out out.

Yeah man, I cut out the 3 minutes of underwater footage where I was swimming as fast as I physically could after my kayak as the current and wind took it towards Rollover Pass. At one point I considered abandoning it to avoid getting sucked into the pass.

It sucks how much I had to cut out to get this down to a reasonable length. I found out how difficult it is to tell a compelling story in 8 minutes. Thanks for the positive feedback.

I can only hope a few guys see this before they go BTB for the first time and take one or two of the lessons to heart. I'll never go BTB alone again.

Could you maybe do a 10 second video of your underwater leg action in panic mode? rolfmao

lconn4 I couldn't agree more man. Since this trip I have now filed down the barbs on all of my shark hooks for that reason. All part of the learning curve. I edited out the part where I tried to get the hook out for about two minutes, finally realizing I'd probably do more harm to him if I kept him out of the water any longer.

However, I use some pretty cheap Cabela's hooks, and after that short 3 minutes being upside down, every single one of them was covered in rust by that night. I have a feeling that hook is out of that shark's mouth by now.

Now, some of the nicer Mustad's, etc. probably stay in them for a long time.

Their damn skin is so tough. I had to cut the hook to get it out of that baby shark's mouth. Even without the fear of being bitten, it's just impossible to get that barb out of their skin.

The only thing with hooks rusting is that the hook would have to be outside the water to rust..... Need oxygen....

Great video bobby!
