I would like to see prefishing tournament coverage or more of the pro breakdown/decision process. I would like more some equipment coverage about new boats, rods/reels, tackle, maintenance. Detailed How-to's on knots, different techniques, boat construction, lure making, map reading, side finder usage etc. When do I use a specific lure/technique, what conditions are ideal. Why use a popper instead of another style topwater, jig vs. worm, squarebill vs fat bodied shallow diver vs spinnerbait vs swimjig. More largemouth, less northern based smallie coverage. Honey Hole is great because it shows real fishing on lakes in my area. Major League fishing has most of the elements I like especially with the extended coverage option. FLW, PAA, and Bassmasters are good because you get some breakdown of the whys and whats, you get to see where, you get to see what they really caught them on. A couple of ideas that I would like to see: - Present several pros/guides all breaking down and fishing a couple of the same specific scenarios and getting their different approaches, equipment, ideas and methods.
- Head to head competition over two or more days with pros and ams.
- Film some bass club competition. Show it from the meetings, to tournament prep, prefishing, tournament coverage and camaraderie before and after.

My DVR is filled with fishing shows and rarely ever watch them "live". There are few saltwater shows that are fun like Flats Class.
What about lure making/customizing? Like Larry Dahlberg does.
MLF, FLW and Bassmaster are fine if you like tournaments. I got into Bass Champs and TTT last year. Would like to fish a couple of them next year, they look like fun. Lots of guys out here in California would love to have something like that: low entry, big payout and TV coverage.
How many times have you bought product within a couple days after seeing it used on a show?
Mark, I like to zone out too with some shows-big weird fish I'll probably never fish for, and crazy saltwater action. But there needs to be a balance, like you said, between the entertainment and education.

Being a tournament fisherman (although its just a club and federation member) I like to see tournament coverage ,but I like the educational shows also ,I don't care for the ones that show a lot of private fishing catching a 5 lber on every cast that's not realistic to me that's why I like Honey Hole he shows every catch pretty much.

I fished the TTT last year at belton and I can tell u they showed every awful minute of the tourney....and I watched it all on the internet! Woohoo! Anyway, I like internet based stuff too. Tackle Warehouse is really putting on a great show with the vlogs right now, a great model for everyone. Just my last 2 cents cause I can't ever shut up...

"Lost Lake" is one of my favorites. It's interesting to see a pro break down a new body of water. The techniques are described well and there is not a hard sell of products. Some of the best episodes are the ones they struggle to put a keeper in the boat because they explain their logic on bait selection, presentations, and when it's time to move. +1

Favorite shows by far are Angling Edge and Infisherman. These shows are great because they teach you new tactics and riggings. Al Lindner and family can catch anything that swims in freshwater and are great at teaching us how to fish.

I really enjoy Bill Dance and Timmy Horton because every time you watch a show it is educational. Lost Lake is another good learning tool.As far as tournament shows, Bassmasters has FLW beat hands down.Another good show is Lunkerville, the host isn't a pro so he learns something every show. I think the Edge is a great show, just wish you had a Texas version.
I've been a trucker for yrs so haven't been able to fish as much as i'd like , but i'm trying to learn. My son goes with me , so that is cool,he is trying to learn also, we both want to become better fisherman.
