Same here Chuck. I would have bet if you filleted that one, it would be white meat vs channel cat yellow. Just doesn't have that buggy eyed and odd shape head of a channel that size. No offense Salsa, just looks too dang much like a blue to me lol

I agree chuck....looked like a blue to me too. But, as with a lot of Twok channels that are over 8lbs....they start looking very similar.

But you can't creation....that big boy had 28 rays.

Maybe it was a blue with less than 30 rays? LOL

Been fishing long salsa? You can plainly see that fish is a Gaftop...... for the time I've come to know Salsa I can say he is a solid person on and off the water and is highly experienced and educated proven by his level of skill, he says it's a Channel then you better take that to the bank!!! nice fish Mike!!

Although it's not likely, it's possibly a hybrid cat.
The hybrid catfish is a combination of a female channel catfish and a male blue catfish.
The physical differences between a hybrid and a normal blue catfish is the hybrid has 28 rays on it�s anal fin compared to the 30 to 36 rays of a blue catfish, have lower eyes than channel catfish, and may have spots.
