unbelievable but the same person who donated the trip just offered another one . So another person will be taken in the near future. Theres so many returning soldiers who have been deployed time and time again, who really need to feel that great motion of a boat going across the water, with the wind in their faces, and enjoy this great country in its magnificent beauty, .Hopefully this will continue being an ongoing event and I can take someone out every so often free of charge to them and thier spouse or child or both. What im finding out on these trips, is just the fact that someone cared, and acknowledged the sacrifice they make, and let them know they appreciate it by the gesture, was the REAL treasure in the cereal box. When these guys return from the war zone, everyone in the civillian world has been going abt thier daily lives, and really not abreast of the horrific things that are going on a half a world away. A soldier returns, and watches as the day to day life takes place, while carrying around a lifetime of events that happened in a short period of time, that will affect them for the rest of thier lives. and thier families. So sometimes just listening to the accounts, of these events, is a great way to acknowledge these great men, and share in the experiences. It is the acknowledgement, and appreciation, and the providing of a enjoyable, positive, experience that matters. Its not the fish. The fish are just a bonus,. If anyone want to take a soldier fishing, shoot me a pm, I can either give u info on who to call to get someone who wants to go, or if u want to help fund a trip, I can set up a running fund, and when it enough for a trip, I will run it and report to the sponsors accordingly.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Thank you for sharing your boat and fishing experience with SSG randolf. The debt and sacrifices given to all Americans can never be repaid. Also, thank the folks that paid for the trip and remained nameless. Does a heart good to be on the giving side.....

Using the site for a while...this is really great to share fishing ideas and success with others.

yes sometimes the sonar might pick up one or 2 that are slacking , then that tell me theres likely a lot more in there. Soon the shad will start sitting in strange formations on the bottom, that look like xmas trees and other brushpiles,. I don't know why they do that, it might be they find little cool water pockets, or something on the bottom that they like and they just set camp for a while.
This time of year when they hide in the brush, I like to use a sinker on the bottom with a hook abt 6 inches up, and knock on their roof with the sinker, then hold it still, sometimes they come out, and see the minnow, eat it, then try to run back to the casa. you must be fast. ha

Good job leanin post. I know the feeling to take one of our boys out to see what they were fighting for. When my oldest son returned I took him out a couple of times and he said it helped him a ton. Thank you leaning post! thumb
