I have used the Zoom Super Fluke for years on Toledo and Rayburn with great results. I have also used the Bass Kandi and KVD brand of Flukes with good results. The fish don't seem to care so I use Zoom because of price and I can find them anywhere. I always fish them weightless....

On the small pond I fish, I have much better success with the KVD Perfect Plastic flukes (5" Green Pumpkin Sapphire) when compared to the Zoom Super Salty Fluke in white with chartreuse tail. Water is stained with a few feet of visibility. I throw both on weighted 1/8 oz. hooks.
Last week brought in 6 or 7 fish on the KVD; and they INHALED them. Only one thump on the Zoom. In addition, I tried the Zoom Swimmin' Fluke in white once and got nothing.
I wish the Zoom worked because they definitely last a ton longer than the KVD. I might have to pick up a pack of Zoom flukes in a comparable color to the KVD.

michang..thats basically what I'm getting too. Hoping the bite picks up for the zooms or I'll be paying the extra $2 for the KVD's and after they nose rip, I'll hook em through the sides of the nose. lol Try it. It actually works.

I'll definitely give that a try, Sparlin. I've read that some people will wacky hook the KVD and get some action, too.

They are both good. But I would use zoom. Cheaper and always on sale. If you watch academy you can catch the kvd's on sale and the yum also

I will use the Tilapia el grande on Amistad. Not as big as a mag fluke but a perfect size. Wish Zoom made one in that size.

Zoom for me too. The kvd's are a little too soft for my liking and tear easily. I agree the KVDs tear too easy. Heck you don't even have to catch a fish. Too many casts will do them in. I like Wave Worm Shaddicks - still have a few left.

Only fluke I've ever used is the zoom tiny fluke. White tiny fluke on the Buffalo National River. I need that trip again soon

I use Yum Houdini Shads and Zoom Flukes. Zoom catch just as many if not more. Plus the color and size selection is outrageous! They are tough. As far as flukes go, they are tough to beat. Also you get a better flash on the Zooms compared to other brands.

I caught the biggest fish of my life on a Zoom magnum fluke, but I'd fish with a Bass Assasin if I had the choice. Unfortunately, Academy quit selling them (in my area) and you have to special order or go to Bass Pro or Cabelas for the large ones.

I have used both. I like both and have caught fish on both. Sometime the KVD out fishes the Zoom and sometimes the Zoom works better. The each have a diff. action. If the should be hitting a fluke I will try both and use the one they are hitting best.

Went out for 1.5 hours this morning. Brought in four 1-1/2 lb. fish, using two KVD flukes. Best I've ever done (I bank fish, only been fishing since July).
I was able to extend the life of the flukes by: - supergluing the night before the top of the fluke ripped up from skin hooking - trimming 1/3" off the ripped tip when ripped up - this allowed for hook insertion further back so I could skin hook on a non-ripped-up portion of the top
