We've all made "wild" casts that end up somewhere not intend. However, If you stick it in a tarp covering a boat or a seat cushion, etc. at least have the good sense to go up and try and slowly and gently remove it.

My son-in-law can now come to my place, take the tarp off his boat, drive all the way downtown and pay probably $30 or more to repair an 8" V-shaped rip where someone apparently hung a lure and just ripped it out. Common sense guys, common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe if you could convince your fellow dock owners not to throw a [censored] fit when they see someone touching their dock or boat you'll have a chance.... hammer

I disagree. We as fisherman need to be more responsible than to tear up one's property. If I have to get an [censored] eating cuz I'm doing the right thing by getting my lure out of someone's seat or tarp, then I'll take it.

it's also illegal.for us to get on your dock. Not to mention the "dock owners" who think they're lake owners and get mad if you even flip a wrom next to the dock.

I've never had a problem with a dock owner, most are friendly and ask me how the fishing is. I treat their property the way I'd want someone to treat mine.

I would also figure it's illegal for us to destroy their property.

yall? I've never scratched anyone's property on a dock. I'll break off if I get stuck underneath it. To many money hungry people these days ready to sue.

I would cut my line before I got on somebody's dock. I wouldn't pull on my line so hard that it would tear somebodies tarp or anything else.

Over the years i have left about 15 lures right were they hit. I am not going to get on someones dock and i would rather they found the lure and take it out. I understand how it happens and feel like its the best policy.

Is it illegal to hang up one of many "crappie rigs" they sometimes leave in the water unattended (that we all know are actually there to prevent us from fishing their doc) and then set the hook real hard?

The only time I will get off the boat to retrieve a lure is if I am fishing marina docks and then I am pretty skeptical about it.

Husker is one of the good guys. He not only lets you fish his dock but tells you what they are biting and gives you the layout of his hard work. I am sorry that you had someone damage your sons boat. We were out there Sunday and fished out in front of your dock. Did the lucky craft ever wash up?
