AllStar has a new rod out 7'10" "BigCrankbait". I got one and it chunks 10xd's and 6xd like a missle. For $89.00 you'll be hard pressed to find more value for the dollar. Academy is where I got mine.

It's not what a man knows that bothers me. It's what a man "KNOWS" that ain't necessairly so that has me conserned.

+1, got that rod and love it, their replacement warranty is pretty good if you ever break it.

If your going cheap ..for the bigger Cranks such as a DD22,6XD or 10XD H20 Makes a 7'10" rod which is good. I would get this before i got a 7' for big cranks. My favorite is the St. Croix Mojo Glass Crankbait Cast Rod 7'8" Med Hvy for big cranks. A good reel for Deep diving cranks is the diawa exceller 4:9

Are there any other rods out there for the same price that are just as good? Keep in mind that I am a recent grad and I don't want to spent a lot of money.

7' 0" Composite cranker is good for most cranks. For the big deep divers, I use the 7'10" Magnum Cranker.

If your looking at Ethos, I throw deep divers on their 7'6" Heavy rod or XH rod with a fast tip. It works very well, including the 10XD. Mine has lasted 3 years, so far, and hopefully will last another 3 years or longer. Some of the rods mentioned above are composite, others graphite. I prefer a graphite rod over a composite, because you shuolders feel it less and you feel the bait more quickly. The BPS is a composite, the Ethos crankers are composite, the 7'5 Ethos is graphite. Just thought you should know.

Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Didn't see the Blue Ethos composite rods rods today for sale but the camo versions in 7'0" Medium action were $15

Also had one 6'6" MH in camo marked at $15 (All others still stickerd at $59 - The MH rang up at $59 but they gave it to me for the green sticker price.
