I'll start!

1) Don't idle in the boat lane before daylight.
2) When you are done fishing for the day, remove your electronics, rods & reels and any other valuable items from your boat.
3) It's gonna be crowded. Communicate on the water. If you approaching someone while fishing, simply ask the guy which direction he's going and decide who is passing on which side. Communicate. Don't come on here Monday ranting about something that more than likely could have been prevented.
4) Lake Fork is low. There are some stumps that usually are 4-5' underwater. Don't get foolish outside the boat lanes.
5) Turn your lights off at the boat ramp when launching.
6) Get ALL your stuff ready to launch BEFORE backing down the ramp. If you have a partner fishing with you, there is no need to even stop on the ramp as you back down. He should be in the boat when you begin to back up and you just dump him in the water and pull out.
7) Don't shine your spotlight towards oncoming boats while running in the boat lanes.
8) Take your valuables out of your boat. Did I already say that?

Remember, at the end of the day, we all fish for fun. Yes, our competitive side comes out during a tournament, but don't let one thing ruin your weekend on the water. ENJOY IT!

If enough people pitch in money to hire someone to watch vehicles I might not fish. LOL

If some one is sitting facing a point and is casting or reeling. Pass on the other side at least a the distance of a coupe of cast. I will fess up and admit 2 years ago I was watching my finder and not paying attention and cut a couple of guys off. They signaled to me that I was number one.

not everybody has a boat that will always crank up first try or even 5th try. We never just dump the boat in the lake. But all of the other advice looked good.

Don't shut down in front of another boat while running wide open in boat runs

I am curious about rule #1......At what speed would you suggest running the boat lane before daylight?

As long as your on plane, then I think you're being safe. It is so hard to judge distance on the water by looking at little white bulb. Before you know it you might be on top of that person. And as a driver on plane, I can't play it safe by coming off plane to gain more time for myself to see if you are on plane because then I become a hazard! LOL

If you don't want to be on plane before daylight, then idle to a close cove and fish until good daylight. (Idle out of the boat to this cove)
