Awesome report Carey. Hopefully that thermocline does come in. I remember us having a couple days of going home empty handed after driving all over the lake. I def look forward to making it back out on the water again with you in the future.

Fantastic pics T Fly! I have never seen, or maybe never paid any attention, to balls of fry that small and that concentrated, but now that you mention it, once a few years ago, at the Marina on Hubbard, where the Texas Queen was once moored, I saw a HUGE flathead doing the same thing, by himself, and I thought he was dying. I was on the bank and of course could not see what he was after. but he was NOT dying he was doing the same thing your school of cats was doing yesterday. Wow.

Any reports on whites at the power plant discharge? are they there as they usually are this time of yr?

Is there a ramp big enough for a pontoon open on Lavon right now?

Today was the day. Should be turning on hot now every morning.

They are shad!!!! Now those small fry in the pic, are now dime size thread fin shad. Crazy fast growers. And along with them, millions of sand bass busting the surface for hours. Two boats on the whole lake. Every direction there were boils going on. Mostly keeper fish up to 14 inches. Left them biting. Clients limited out in less than 45 mins. We would stop on a brush pile and try crappie here and there but only boated 5 keeper crappie. Caught 60+ 9 inchers and burned through a pound of minnows. So no more crappie till a thermocline. First major top water action of the year!

Everyonce and awhile i see them there. It's 8 ft deep now. Needs to be 12-15 to get good again. Island best bet for banking it. Always fish on south west side of the island.

You can launch from Little Ridge in a toon, the dock is on the bank though. Collin Creek may be ok, Cary can probably give a little more info.

I see Capt Larry launch his pontoon at Collin everyday.

Popped up at 545 and down at 630 pm. Two man limit.

Tried getting them when they were on the bottom but wouldn't budge. Should be up at 730 to 8 am and no clue when they will go down. Wind will kick us off early.
