Way more comfortable with a pedal. The MK Terrova has an electronic foot pedal in addition to the remote. An occasional toe-tap needed on the pedal switches to run and steer.

I wonder why the pros don't seem to use these? Others have the same question. Personal preference is a factor of course but I suspect that the "pros" may have factors to consider in determining equipment choice that everyday fishermen don't deal with. One big factor may be sponsor considerations. In any case - what the pros use is of little importance to me. Everyone should carefully evaluate what they need or want from any piece of equipment and make their decision based on that - not what pros may or may not use. The iPilot system with electronic foot control is an alternative to the traditional cable operated foot controlled or hand-steered TMs. Some will like 'em and some won't. I've had all 3 types and none are perfect with each having strong and weak points.

Day 2 update: went to conroe......caught 8 .....all deep (15-20 ft) baby brush hogs....was an absolute joy because of spot lock. wind really picked up about 11:30.....I just kept smiling and breaking necks! having the option of foot pedal and remote is very convenient....not standing on one leg all day kept me out longer

If you haven't used one you don't know what you are missing. Its shaft is rated really tough and the option to go to the foot pedal or remote is cool. I was fishing with skiers and wake boarders zooming by and to just tap the remote one way or another was awesome! It's like anything, you just have to get used to it. The guys who don't like it are probably set in their ways and not ready for this. The foot pedal is easy as well, you can turn the head all the way around and not lose your balance because you don't push the pedal, just step on it's directional. Another thing, if you "spin out" over trolling motor control, especially in rough water, this is for you...
