Well said about the KATS crew. If anyone stands out to me on the deserving some major backing it is Ryan Herzog. He wins constantly, makes newbies feel at home, offers up tons of advice, and knows a lot about fishing. I'd say hes hands down the best kayak fishing ambassador in the austin area. I dont know if he has pursued sponsors but IMO they need to pursue him.
I feel people down here haven't pursued sponsors until recently. Even then its only been a small few and most got sponsors by default. I know its been discussed by a few of us and the general view is we just want to fish and be better fisherman. If a sponsor comes someones way even better but it would have to be a company we use and believe in. I personally would love to be sponsored by ACK just so I took use all their kayaks lol.
