yep... they eat the same... and after catching the first angry one, i wouldnt mind if the next one was a couch potato wink

A couple of years back I had a fish hit my jig 2ft from the boat and proceeded to take about 100ft of line back out. It appeared to be an Albacore tuna because it's markings were unlike anything I have ever caught in the Gulf. That little dude only weighed about 30# but wow did it ever have a ton of attitude. I also caught a Big Eye on that trip that put up a heck of a fight for a 50# fish. It don't matter how they bite just get on my hook and we will work out the rest on the fly. cheers

Plan on some long battles you can only use around 15Lbs of drag on 50Lb line and if you get a Yellow Fin around 120Lbs you can count on a long fight, better off to get you some 65 or 70 # braid then use 22 to 25lbs of drag and twist a knot in their tail.

50# is Ok for jigging Black Fins but you can ask Lite Liner, Mojo Margarita and a few others about low drag and big fish scared If you want to borrow a heavier line rig for YFT let me know.

65 sounds good cuts down line cap but aliitle higher drag won't hurt... My first trip I used a 8k bio master w/55# BB I landed a bunch of blk fin but I couldn't keep the larger fish buttoned up on my popper never got to fell a big mad tuna...

Is this the new style Cabo 60?

I was casting for Blackfins on the Big E once and caught a 50ish pound Yellowfin on my old style Cabo 60 that had 50# braid plus a mono topshot. Not real sure if I'd want to go gunning for 70 plus pounders with mine though.

51 and counting. better start buying stuff for the trip!

possible trade: I have a few OTI komodo poppers, not sure the colors but will get that exact if someone is interested. All of them have white undersides and I would like poppers with black or dark purple for the contrast at night. Anyone have something equal or similar that wants to trade?

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?
