First off, they are not hard to get worked on at all. Tons of places install and service PPs. I'm about to get my fourth set and have only needed service on one pump, one time.

PP has amazing customer service, should you ever need it. I accidentally deployed mine while driving down the highway (don't keep the remote in your pocket) and ground the stakes down to about a foot. I called PP and they shipped me new stakes, overnight at no charge.

PPs deploy at a 45 degree angle to your big motor, giving you a wider stance when anchored.

PPs can be lowered either via a remote or a button on your boat, so you can back the rig into storage. Then raised back up once inside.

I had PP blades on my last boat and that's what I'm getting on the new one. You can double tap UP or DOWN on the remote and the poles deploy or retract twice as fast.

Only negative that I can think of with the blades is the pumps pull power off your cranking battery. You'll want to install a switch to turn the pumps off when not in use.
This^^^ covers it all. End of conversation! Go buy a couple! :-)

I am waiting for the announcement of exactly 'how much' the Talon 10 and 12 foot models will be. Half afraid of what I'm going to hear. My boat is small, 17 1/2' so, I am thinking Talon. But, only one if I can get by with that (for now at least). Expensive equipment if your not wealthy or a pro.

Talons are from 1299 to 1449 for the 6 and 8 foot models. No pricing on the new 10 and 12 talons listed yet.

Everyone seems to say that once you have one of either you will want another pretty soon.

Talon all the way. To many things to break on the power poles. + the talon will hold your boat a lot better than the poles. in 2011 when the Bass was at Toledo all them boat came off the shore and guess what they had poles.... when the back of the boat comes you so does the poles. the talon will hold your boat 100 times better in rough water. If you dont need your talons you can take them off in 3min.

Lee you should be able to get a pretty good deal on the 8 footers (once the new models come out) either new or used. There will be plenty of folks on here upgrading so they will be everywhere.

That is funny, I think about 95 percent of the pros use Power Poles.

I have dual Talons. I have no first hand knowledge of PPs. I love my Talons. I installed them myself in a couple of hours on the back of my Skeeter with the folding bracket. The pros are obvious. The cons are they are loud while in transition - not sure how much of that gets transmitted down under the water, but the motor is up at the top of the unit. And they are heavy. I can tell they are back there. And with the wider profile they collect lots of bugs going down the road!
