Hit the Comal River and the bite was outstanding. I also did not see one tuber,swimmer, or any rafts. I fished from 9am till 2pm and caught about 50 fish. Redbreast in the 9 to 10 inch range, several Bass in the 12 to 14 inch range,Rios in the 8 to 9 inch range. Rounding out the catch were some Red Spotted, and some small Longear. Fish were caught using worms with a bottom technique. Fish were in 3 to 4 feet of water next to grass beds and were all healthy and fat. The water was crystal clear with a medium current. All fish were released to fight again. Left em biting. Looks like the Comal and the three river lakes Dunlap,Mcqueeney,and Placid are getting back to Angler Friendly! Fishing on the Comal after the Labor Day Circus. It just don't get any better.

Good job buddy, I'm chomping on the bit to get some this weekend. Taking youngest boy to football game in Wimberly Saturday. Thinking I'll bring some rods and fish in your area after the game. Just a plan,we'll see.

That Comal is an awesome river. It's good to hear the traffic has finally calmed down. I see myseelf going to Dunlap quite a bit in the near future!

And man, you ain't kidding about that crystal clear water. Honestly, I cant tell in picture 2, 3 & 4...is that dry land or water so clear you can't even see it?

Thanks "Urban Fisher" for the reply. Yes Sir it looks like we got are rivers back. Not only was the Comal free of tubers I fished Dunlap twice this week and only saw one ski boat. What a change.



Side Note: Pictures 2,3,and 4 were all taken over water. It was close to the bank and the water was approx 2 feet there. Super clear. Can really see the grass beds further out and the fish staging on em.

Nice fish as always Chuck. Looks like the fish are very active. I have fished the Comal only a few times this year. Now that the main part of summer is over I need to pay it a visit a few more times.
