There a lot of tilapia in Lake Fairfield. Caught quite a few of them bream fishing this summer.

I think you are part right. If retained , the intestines
must be removed . You cannot transport live fish. Nothing says you can't throw back.
Think about those folks throwing a cast net at Fairfield.

You think they have to stop and gut all those little tilapia?

No they don't , just the ones they want to keep.

You can stock them in the state of Texas if you get the right permit. Kinda like grass carp. We stocked them in a couple of large ponds at a ranch I used to manage to help control vegetation. They also provide forage for bass.

Tilapia is not a game fish, you got lucky you caught them on a Rodin reel, there vegetarians, and it also states in the fish and hunting book. You can't release alive, take home or debut.


Cast it, reel it, jerk it.
