I've decided that I'm going to join. Looking at fishing Fannin Farms for my first trip.
The cost looks reasonable and the idea of being able to get away from the crowds and idiots is very appealing. I've looked around online and haven't found anything bad mentioned about the club. Looks like a well run business with improvements being made constantly.

I went this past weekend on the trial offer. We really enjoyed ourselves and will mix this in with what little tournaments I fish. It was very nice to just relax, putt around in the bass buggy and..... catch fish! Will be nice to have this as an option to take my girls and let them experience what I did growing up.
Brian was very nice to work with on lake selection and knows his product.
Greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world.

If we can answer any additional questions or you would like to swing by the office for a cup of coffee we would love to learn more about what you are looking for to make sure we are a good fit for you.
So looking at the website and have a question. How does the family membership work.

Family memberships are for those who have a spouse who want to fish with them. If your spouse does not fish you do not need a family membership as all dependent children 21 and under are included in your individual membership. I have attached a link to our FAQ section that address this question and many others. Please feel free to call the office if you have any others. https://www.privatewaterfishing.com/pages/faq

Steelers. Just do it. I have been a member for many years and the cost is easy to rationalize. When my girls were younger we used the club alot as better alternative to camping. Steve still uses a picture of my daughter with a nice fish in some of his marketing material.

I have known Steve for 35 years (OMG Steve you are old) and I can tell you that he is a first class guy who will work very hard to make sure that you get a very nice return on your investment.
If this is something that interests you and you are wondering about the commitment from ownership I can assure you that you will not be dissappointed!
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

You could launch a 17 foot Nitro in about 8 properties within 2 hours of Winnsboro (Marshall, Longbranch(near Henderson), Tom Beam, Gilmer, Lancaster, Sulphur Bluff(near Sulphur Springs), Waxahachie, and Laneville(near Henderson) when the lakes are full or within 2 feet of being full. However, like all lakes in Texas water is down and launching large boats is becoming increasing difficult. Currently you could launch that boat at 4 property's. One of those properties has four 35 to 45 acre lakes. In total their are about 12 properties all throughout the state where launching fiberglass boats can be done.

Due to this recent topic post I'm strongly considering join the club, but can anyone tell me if there are lakes near keller with Great(not good) crappie fishing? I'm a bass fisherman at heart, but I buy this in a heartbeat if I knew I could bring home some dinner consistently.
Better know as Jg2

The best lakes closest to Keller that have crappie are Weston (15 minutes NW of Mckinney) and 9G Ranch in Tom Beam (35 minutes NE of Mckinney). The other DFW lakes that have crappie are Ferris and Lancaster, both about 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas. There are about 15-20 lakes with Crappie. 95% of our members are bass fisherman, so we do not concentrate our efforts on Crappie. However, the lakes mentioned above hold crappie and we do have members who target them from time to time.

There is one lake in the property that is a hidden gem. For $65, you can book this place for a half day. My buddy and I get there at daybreak and fish until noon when the heat is bordering on unbearable. We boat upwards of forty fish between the two of us and the AVERAGE size is two and a half to three pounds. It is like fishing lake Fork as most of the lake is standing timber with piles of brush and laydowns throughout.
Yesterday I spent the day on Tawakoni and I fished Fork twice in the two weeks prior. I've used $220 gallons of BOAT fuel on the three trips so that about covers my daily fee for fishing the lake. There is truck gas but that goes for any lake you drive to. I can tell you that the maintenance on my Ranger can get hefty from year to year (oil, upkeep, etc.) and my BassTender 11.3 has zero.
I've had too many bad days of fishing on public lakes than I can list and I've had only one on a PWF lake. As you know, the fish don't always bite and I can tell you there is a sinking feeling when you go to a PWF lake and don't do well. Like I said though, that has happened to me once. The norm for me is great numbers of nice sized fish, no matter which of my favorite lakes I choose.
There are some PWF lakes that have huge bass come out of them somewhat regularly. You need to know that you are going to pay more for that. If you want you and your buddy to fish a couple of days and throw in some on-site lodging, you are going to drop a chunk of change. Lake Fork has now become the better deal financially speaking but your odds drop considerably.
There is one last point that has been covered above that I'd like to cover again. What price do you put on the solitude of the entire lake being reserved just for you? There's no hole sitting going on. The birds are chirping in the spring and every spawning bed you see is all yours. To me, there is no comparison to the tranquility that PWF brings. I still fish public lakes but I can tell you that I lay awake at night thinking about my three day Marshall trip to one of the premier PWF lakes in less than a month.
If any of you have any questions, shoot me a PM. Steve and Brian are awesome and will take great care of you.
Jackson
