Good job jleblanc, really glad you were there. I live over across from that ramp just next to 6 mile marina. My neighbor was over there with the FD and I talked to him after it settled down. We didnt go over there as there was more than enough people over there when I look with my binoculars. Also listened to the FD radio comm.
May God Bless her and I pray she does well!

Very good of you to react in such a heroic manner. I do not know the victims but thank you for your actions. Even with equipment malfunctions the kill switch could have assisted in downgrading the incident.
Praying for the lady to recover. She is in Gods hands.

Thanks Skip. We were staying at David Nance's camp for the weekend at holiday forest. His son Cody is a paramedic but was working a football game in lumberton. It was definately a tragedy man, and there was definately a quite a bit of people there. More and more by the minute as boaters came in and passers on the bridge. Acadian and the FD did a fantastic job. Kudos to all of them for there prompt and hard work!
BTW, my name is Jamie. My wife's Grand parents use to own a lake house a few camps from The Sportsman. Tan house with green metal roof, it now has a metal 2 car garge out front

Nice to meet you Jamie. Now for something else, my last name is pronounced just like David's, but spelled Nantz. I have been here since the laste 90's and fished the lake since it opened. Did a little guiding back I'm the late 70's

Use to you couldn't see across the water from that ramp to my house because there were so many trees and so tall. Back in the 70' there were no bouy markers at all. Actually Louisiana had them before we did on this side. Still it was really clear where to run just because the trees had lanes in them and all tree lines were quite visible. Now you see guys run across where ou know they could hit something at any moment. You just have to stay close to the bouys here and never think that either side is ever clear unless you see people that live here run through a spot, there are some, but not marked so safe is better than sorry. Last spring I was trolling in the thick stump fields for my crappie, LOL!
