I did look up the numbers there genious. Would you like a website, or do you even know how to use a computer. Also, I live 30 mins from the lake and I can assure you there is no 80 foot water in their right now. But hey, what do I know. You seem like you have all the answers.

Ok,obviously I'm reading something written by a young child..Does your mom know your on here after bed time?
Go to your website you know how to get to...DO YOU SEE O H IVIE has a MAX depth of 119 ft ! It's 40 ft low...CAN YOU do math?
I'll explain SIMPLY...lets say you have a 100 ft deep lake at it deepest spot and it drops down to 18 ft of water there. That is 18 % lil dude.
Do you understand ? If not ask your TEACHER or MOM..cause I'm tired of explaining to YOU. Ok..Thanks

The last thing I wanna do is get in the middle of this pi$$ing match, but I need to make a point that might help everyone understand.

As everyone knows, a lake is shaped kinda like a "V" shape. The bottom of the "V" is the river bed. Lets say at full pool the deep spot is 100' deep. Should the lake get to 80' low, a lot of folks would say it's still at 20% capacity. Actually not. Think of the "V" shape. There's much less water in the bottom 1/5 of the "V" than 20% of total capacity.

Here's another way to think of it. Think of a funnel. If you were trying to fill up a funnel, it would take much more fluid to raise the level 1" at the top than at the bottom.

So just because the horizontal level is dropped by 40%, there may actually be 60% of the water missing.

That would be true if the lake were shaped like a cube or cylinder in the ground with the same shoreline no matter what depth the water was at. But a lake is shaped like a bowl or a V, with a shrinking shoreline. That's how you can have a 100 ft deep lake with 50 ft of the water gone and have it at 20% capacity.

Look at this shape: V

Fill it up with water. Now remove water to the 1/2 way mark. You have removed more than 50% of the water because it's wider at the top than at the bottom. That top foot of water in a lake is much, much more water than the middle foot or the bottom foot.

EDIT: Dang, beat me by 18 seconds.

I fully get the funnel analogy . That's correct for sure. I'm not trying to take away but...lol..
Around here ,the deep water by the Dam is pretty flat so to speak and covers a lot of area. I'm guessing ivie must be the v shape. I'm wrong in my statement if it is.
