LFT has been supporting us and our youth also for many years!! Thank you,to everyone for your support of our ALL NEW tackle store because this new venture in the Fun-n-Sun business plan has been a blast! Our goal has always been to be the best tournament minded boat dealership in Texas by concentrating on the hardcore tournament anglers, the military fishing events and anything to do with kids and getting them hooked on fishing. We want to offer full service in all aspects of boating, and having a full tackle department has been a great compliment to that. The best part is that we are a tackle shop that is in the middle of alot of other great tackle retailers, and that is good for our boat selling industry as a whole. I applaud both the OP on this topic and all the bumps that keep this on the front of the boaters minds, as a reminder of all the local tackle stores to choose from. We need all these retailers to be successful in business, and driving fisherman into their stores with competitive priced tackle to help the angler not be priced out of the fishing hobby. Boats don't seem to be coming down in price with the cost of healthcare coming for these companies, and it seems that $250+ rods or reel, $15-$20 baits, and $1,000 rain suits are following the same pricing structure. Luckily everyone has many good retail store options to choose from in North Texas to stay competitively priced for the consumer. The worst thing for Fun-n-Sun Boats and all of us boat dealerships is if the tackle giants like Cabelas, Academy and Bass Pro- or any of the family owned retailers- went out of business. Nobody benefits without competition, and nobody buys boats if they don't buy tackle. Thats why we started a weekly special on here, and cut prices to the bone for certain items. Imitation is the best form of flattery they say, so hopefully we see others follow us. If all the stores will offer sale items like we do, then everyone in the industry and fishing world will benefit, and thats a GOOD thing. Because we own our own building and have no rent, or have to support anyone other then one outstanding, aggressive employee who LOVES the fishing business (Linus), we will always be able to offer some of the best prices in the area. You want bulk pricing? No problem, call us and ask Monte or myself for a smoking deal...I own this business and the buck stops here, and we don't have set prices like the big guys. We want to sell boats- the tackle store is a convenience for our customers that just happens to also be alot of fun to be a supplier in. If their is a certain bait you want us to run in our weekly special- let us know! If somebody has a price that we need to match- let us know! So please support all the tackle dealers who work hard to keep the fishing hobby alive, because the last thing any of us in this industry need, is people to not have competitive prices or places to buy tackle, boats and great service. Thank You for all your business, Jeff P.S. Don't forget that we are giving you back 3% of your Skeeter Boat repair bill in tackle and 1% of your new Skeeter purchase. So far we have exceeded $10,000 in free tackle to our customers!

Great bunch of guys to work with. It's been a pleasure working along side the Fun-N-Sun team with their new tackle shop and the line of new kayaks, and gear. The expansion into this line of business has open many areas of affordable fun for everyone.

Been to the new fun n sun tackle store a few times and am becoming very fond of it. Very friendly staff and if they don't have what your looking for they go above and beyond to get it for you. It's nice being able to get anything you need for your boat and pick up some baits all in one stop.

So far we have exceeded $10,000 in free tackle to our customers! VERY WELL said Jeff. Someone once said, "Competition is like castor oil. First it makes you sick, then it makes you get better." I think Jeff is right on in his post. Words like his are refreshing to read. I only shop for my tackle at Fun-n-Sun in Hurst, even if it is 20+ miles from my house, I want to support people and business' who support the DFW fishing community. I drive past several tackle dealers to shop at FNS. Plus, I like shopping at a place where, when I walk in the door, they greet me and know my name. Nowadays, although price is important, it isn't only about price, it is about Customer Service. That's right, CUSTOMER SERVICE and competitive prices. That's why I shop at FNS. Apologies for the long read.
