This is going to get interesting now if they do this. I know the land owners and businesses around the lake can't sue them for removing water but I can't help but wonder if the folks around Fork will try to sue them for property damage because their piers and boat houses are high and dry permanently for the most part, there by lowering property values.......

Folks DONOT own the land on the water it is SRA lease back. no one can own the SRA so they can not sue

Sounds about right City of Dallas has rights for about 10'. I heard the last time they tried to crank up the pumps, they leaked like swiss cheese. So unless they have been working on them i dont think it will happen. No issues on the pumping station here at Fork. Tawkoni will be shutdown for at least 6 months for repairs so water has to come from some where. Anyone want to mow under my dock for me? How much money do you have LOL

I know fork was always just a Dallas water bottle...i just can't figure out why they would invest so much money in making this a trophy lake if it was just a stash spot for water...why let people build their retirement homes on the waterfront if you never had the intent of leaving the water there.

...why let people build their retirement homes on the waterfront if you never had the intent of leaving the water there. It's not the SRA's responsibility to educate people on why NOT to buy real estate on the lake. It takes a grown person to buy real estate. That same person can take a little time and do research. Y'all watch what is fixing to happen to Lake Conroe. They are laying a 60" water line right now leading south to The Woodlands. An engineer told me directly that it would drop the lake 3-4" just to fill up the pipe. You think there are a lot of nice places at Fork that have nice water front assets...you should see Conroe!

Seems like too many people and not enough water to go around. Water is dirt cheap and people use it like it is dirt cheap. Is it necessary for everyone in this climate to have lush lawns in every neighborhood? And this problem won't stop at 10 ft low. We can't just sit around hoping for a hurricane. People use too much water.
