What are some ways that you guys have found that works for getting fish to quit bleeding? I caught one the other day and she bled pretty bad. It finally quit but it took a while in the livewell. She swam off fine but I sure would have liked to have been able to stop it quicker.

Take some "Catch And Release" in the palm of your hand, add enough water to make a paste and apply it to the bleeding spot.

Mountain Dew, or 7up. The citric acid helps to stop the bleeding.

Now this is a ?. . . I have noticed that as soon as u put a bleeding fish in the water that the blood quickly thickens up. So does lake water actually help clog where the fish is bleeding?

Put them back in the water and go on about fishing. I'm willing to bet more fish die because people jack with them instead of releasing them.

Hmm that certainly is a good question...Maybe the best thing is to let them go. Doesn't really help for a tournament though. Thats mainly what the tricks would be for.
