When throwing a crank in trees...how do you NOT get hung up? I just throw plastic worms and STILL get hung.

You're gonna get hung up there's nothing you can do about it, that's why you see so many people say carry a knocker. When you feel the rod load up just slow it down and walk the bait over the tree, when I feel it come over the limb I either kill it or burn it. Sometimes I'll just burn it through the trees, you'll get hung up more but you're also more likely to get a reaction strike

7' med action rod, 10lb line, plug knocker close by, throw in same areas you'd throw your crig, trigs and jigs. If your bumpin into stuff and getting hung up occasionally, you're doin it right. All good info. :-)

When throwing a crank in trees...how do you NOT get hung up? I just throw plastic worms and STILL get hung. As mentioned above, you need to be banging into stuff if possible. I would tell you that most of my strikes around cover come after I've run into something. If you get hung up, let your crank sit on slack line for 10 seconds to see if it will float up and off. If not, to the butt slap and the line pop. Still nothing, drop down the $10 plug knocker (I like the one with the little chains on it) and smack the lure off that way. Run into stuff..... it's okay! LOL Good luck guys.
