I'm thinking about getting one. With all the issues I've had with my Torqueedo motor and it's fancy electronics, I am leery of fancy stuff.

I agree with Planokeith. Its been the biggest game changer on my boat. Now its like someone else is having to fool with the boats constaint location adjustments - I'm fishing more and just occasionally pecking a button. And spot lock (the "anchor" setting) is incredible. I've had it hold tight on a spot in up to 25 MPH wind and waves. And with a few button clicks you can move just feet or big distamce. I got the Riptide version and its a HOSS of a machine.

Love mine!!! Be sure and get the right one for you!! There's a Riptide model (saltwater) that comes in white.. And has no transducer built in... But with some modification you can mount one on it..(google) The Terrova model comes in black and has a built in transducer for your up front graph..and will adapt to most any unit... Both are great models! Don't under power yourself. David (shut-up-and-fish) will take care of you and answer any questions that you may have.. They are a must have

If you want to never have to throw an anchor again, then get one. If you want to sit in the school of fish and not have to play with the trolling motor, then get one. If you want to move slowly to find fish and then hover over them without effort, then get one. If you fish like Dennis Christian and don't want to anchor, let the wind blow you back, hit spot lock so you can cast into the school using his technique, then get one. It is great for people who would rather fish than run a trolling motor. Got a Terrova two years ago and have no problems.
