+1 Agreed. But being my first and only bass boat, have to go by what I have been told and what I have seen. Mine does seem stable but, have to qualify this, I don't fish in really rough weather or tournaments.

I don't agree with SJ...the Stratos you purchased is a great quality built boat and perfect for what you will be doing. Enjoy it!

I love my '95 201 pro XL. I am thinking that if the old Rude quits I might just buy a new motor and keep the boat. I've come to the point in life that I won't make payments on anything but a house. My boat fishes tournaments just fine and still looks pretty good. I just don't care what anyone thinks anymore. I know my boat is built well, and it still runs great.

As to not seeing many, if you had been fishing 15 or 20 years ago you would have seen plenty. There aren't very many dealers around here that sell Stratos. I don't think they are made as well now as they used to be, but most things aren't.

That's exactly what I did to my 97 201 PE. In 07 I blew up my 225 and bought a brand new 225 fuely and retrofitted. She runs like a spotted ape with no signs of slowing down. I figure one day she'll crash and burn but I don't see any reason to get rid of her while everything on her works as good as the day I picked her up from the dealer in 98.

Back when omc built javelin, stratos, and hydrasport in the early 90's they were great boats. We chose a javelin over stratos back then but they were basically the same boat. Very solid

I think you will see fewer Stratos boats in the future. They picked up the Elite 210 and 202 Champion and I have a 2012 210. Great boat but none of the Champion guys bought them and received word a few months ago that they dropped the elite design.

Hmmmmmmm....my recent conversations with Ranger folks, gave me support on live well system, told me they were doing just the opposite and selling more and more Stratos..
Lord, I don't know..
It does look like they, Stratos, are the least expensive of the Ranger line, i.e., Ranger/Triton/Stratos...

I ran a Stratos from 1998-2013. It was as structurally sound the day I sold it as it was when we bought her off the showroom floor. I've never met anyone with a Stratos who complained about them. The only reason I got rid of mine was to get a bigger boat.

I remember when I was in high school back in the late 80s the 201 seemed to be the dream machine everyone wanted. They had a fast hull but super wet ride.
