Praying now. I sure hope for a quick and full recovery. Also praying for the owners of the barge. That would be terrible to be in that position as well. Words can't express.

Don't even have to be on the water at fork to get into a boat wreck. Praying for a speedy recovery.

My internet access has been limited for the past few days but I wanted to post a quick reply to tell everyone thank you for all the prayers and to provide a quick update. Its a great feeling knowing that so many people we have never met are taking the time to pray for all involved.
We are still in ICU at Tyler but dad is getting stronger each day and our biggest concern now is avoiding pneumonia and infection in the puncture wound on his leg. He has a CT scan tomorrow morning and we are hopeful that the lungs are clear and that the blood in his punctured lung is being absorbed. He is trying to avoid pain medicine as much as possible but thats not easy with so many different injuries.
Prior to this accident my dad was extremely active working 10+ hours a day outside so he is very strong and active. If you are familiar with a new 900+ feet retainer wall in Hamilton bay you will have an idea of the size projects he still tackles on his own. We are hopeful that being so active prior to the accident will help him during the recovery.
I will update everyone when we know more from the tests over the next day or so and hopefully if he continues to progress we will be in a regular room soon.
Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers and I cant wait for him to reach the point in recovery where I can let him read all the responses on this thread.

So sorry to hear about this but thankful that he is hanging in there. I also want to say how respectful it is for you all to be thinking of the other family and praying for them too. May peace be with all you guys. THIS /\
