I think they should just ban bass fishing all together so that there is no chance at all a fish can touch the carpet, get deep hooked, be carried around in a livewell and then held up for pictures the wrong way.
We could all meet on Saturday and Sundays and play Bunko with our wives. I will bring this new dip recipe I just learned!!!!

Yeah, we could also go down to the lake, form a circle with jet skis, have a representative from PETA speak to us, sing Kum ba ya, toss out fish food pellets, and light candles!

Kind of agree with you Jason . A net is just another tool one has the option of using . I fish 95% of the time by myself and a net comes in pretty handy at times with a big fish or one with a crank in their mouth.
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

BASS used to limit you to 10lbs of tackle and would not allow anglers to wear shorts or blue jeans. I think the blue jean rule is still in effect too.

I think they should be allowed a rubber net. Safer for the fish and your fingers.
I don't remember the show that enacted this rule, but penalizing someone for the fish touching the deck is too far... About as stupid as ejecting a running back for lowering his helmet to truck someone. At least let them swing the fish onto a rubber net sitting on the deck or something.

Did anyone watch the FLW on Lake Eufaula where Randy Haynes was boat flipping them with a long rod from about 10 ft from the boat? He would jerk them in as fast as he could and they would hit the carpet or console hard! It was a terrible display of fish care buy a professional in my opinion.
