Got my Point 1 from Shutup and Fish and installed it but, have not yet put the boat in the water.
There is no mention in the instructions that came with it concerning the Elite 7 so I need to know what I should do when first hitting the lake? I assume I need to go to the NMEA 2000 tab and select the Pt 1 but, is there anything else I need to do?
I plan to do the calibration procedure that came with the instructions.

Bobby,

Make sure you have updated your units software to the latest version to accept the Point 1 before hitting the water for calibration.

David, I did the cal when I got out yesterday morning and I am a very happy camper!!!! This Point 1 solved my problem perfectly!!! Actually, it is working on my HDS 8 gen 1 even better than I had hoped. I love it and highly recommend to everyone with an HDS.

However, I am having problems with my Elite, it does not get waypoints from my HDS. When I go to the Network menu, it shows the HDS and the Point 1. Everything seems to work except no waypoints. On the HDS under network I do have the boxes checked to share waypoints both sending and receiving.
Maybe I should start another post with this question, in fact I'm going to do that now.

Unlike the HDS series, the Elite 7 will not synchronize and save existing waypoints. Only new waypoints that you add from now on will show on both units.

Wow, what a bummer! Sure wish I'd known that in advance.
Do you know of a way to download waypoints from my HDS 8 gen 1 and somehow load them into my Elite 7? I'm thinking maybe
there is some way to do it???

Use an SD card with the Micro card inside making sure the card is formatted first. When you copy the files over from your HDS unit, choose the "User Datafile" version # 3 . Then load the micro-sd card in the Elite 7 and your waypoints should transfer over.

Typing this from memory but I'm pretty sure that's all you need to do as the file formats should be the same on both units.

Wow, so you mean the formats and all are the same? I can and have saved HDS waypoints to SD card and since I have the adapter it should be a piece of cake!!! That will help a bunch. Thanks for sharing!

Mike, It is most likely air you are seeing as fork is turning over right now. Its just about finished. Often you will get that when a lake is turning over.

Lowrance SpotlightScan Sonar - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwEVvtveVJA

--Forward- and surround-scan imaging for your HDS Gen2 and HDS Gen2 Touch displays

--Quickly identify key fishing areas before your first cast

--Do-it-yourself, bow-mount installation for foot-control, cable-steer trolling motors

--Operating frequencies: SpotlightScan (455/800 kHz); DownScan Imaging® (455/800 kHz); and Broadband Sounder™ (83/200 kHz)

The Lowrance SpotlightScan Trolling Motor Transducer is required for adding Spotlightscan Sonar to your Lowrance HDS Gen2* and Gen2 Touch
fishfinder/chartplotter displays. This incredible sonar provides a new level of angler-controlled, forward- and surround-scanning views to provide picture-like images of key fishing areas. SpotlightScan Sonar clearly pinpoints structure and fish targets ahead and around your boat, similar to the way a scanning spotlight reveals objects in the dark. Consequently, you save valuable time on the water and maintain focus on the most productive fishing spots without disturbing these areas before you have a chance to fish them. The SpotLightScan Transducer also features DownScan Imaging and Broadband Sounder for the bet possible view beneath your boat.

NOTE: HDS Gen2 (non Touch) models require the SonarHub™ module for compatibility with the SpotlightScan tranducer.

It seems to be Lowrances response to Humminbirds 360 Image.

Just had LSS installed my side imaging is working fine but I can not see where Down imaging is
Does it not work on this unit or do I need to change some setting?

Press the menu button (while on the structure scan page), then find the "view" option. Select it and your options will be down, right, left & right/left.
