Do you remember your first fish that you got all by yourself? I sure do...Lake Mead on a lipless crank when I was 10! Where was yours and what did you get it on?

Here is Archer's (aka Batman, age 3) first solo bass!!! All I did was rig up his favorite Lunker Lizard, "Black with Sparklies", and he did the rest. He was shocked when that thing almost ripped the rod out of his hands!

Creek Chub Injured Minnow - Lake of the Pines - While it was filling.

I think the lure was about 2" longer than the bass.

He was actually ready for bed, and I decided to take him to the pond with us. Glad I did.

My first bass caught by myself was when I was 4 or 5 with live bait either minner or crawled don't remember. My dad didn't let me fish with his lures.

Great work Dad & Son!

My first bass was in my teens. A cold icy early MD spring, clear shallow diving crankbait, I casted it next to some timber sticking out of the water, right after I hit a branch, Boom. I've been hooked ever since.

Cane pole on a Mississippi farm pond with a cork and minnow.... I can still see that bass swimming up to my minnow, stopping checking it out for a few seconds before swallowing it and taking off with my cork.... I have been hooked ever since. I was probably 7 or 8.
Great catch! I am sure he will remember that for life!
