Best way to make the lights is to go to greenlightfishing.com and buy the plans. You can buy the ballast there also but if you do enough research you can find them cheaper. It' ll cost about 100 to do it yourself. I can tell you this. These lights put out more light than any drop over the side light on the market and that includes LEDs. The most expensive part is the clear PVC sleeve. They sell it at granger and they only sell it in 8 foot lengths.it is the ONLY way to night fish. The result are crazy!!!

How deep do u drop the light in the water, or does it depend on the depth of water your fishing?

Just drop it straight up and down all the way up to the cord. It takes about 6 lbs of weight to do that. Some times when you get a big fish you have to pull it back up to keep from getting tangled

I priced it all out and seems like its about 200 bucks for everything, am I off or is this about right?
