In my experience...the Palomar knot has to be babied when tying with flouro. I don't have the patience for that while on the water. Learn the San Diego Jam knot or the Improved Cinch knot and put the worries behind you. I only retie when necessary and I check my line when I have a reason to like with any other line. I will say...stay away from Vanish. BPS Flouro can be good but I have had more than my fair share of bad spools with splintered line right out of the box. Berkely 100%, Seaguar Invizx, Seaguar Red Label & Sunline Shooter are great lines and perform better than most others on the market. My personal favorite used to be Gamma but haven't tried it since they made a return back into the market. Store it in the house and away from direct sun light. Don't leave it in the garage or in your boat. Good luck!

Use the grigsby knot for flouro. All my problems went away after using this knot.

#1 rule with fluoro...DO NOT use Berkley Vanish. Seaguar Invizx or Trilene 100% Fluoro (gold box) are excellent choices. Line is the one thing I refuse to go cheap on.

#2 rule, tie a good knot. I have always used the palomar and never had issues.

Just posted a couple pics in the photo/video tab that were both caught on floro. I use Seaguar only. Just my deal. I've had no problems. I have caught more fish than partner using larger mono - is it the larger line or the floro......I don't know for sure but I know something is working with it. I use 12 &14#. I use BigGame too (in reaction applications). Always pay attention to your know and re-tie if its not right. I agree with the "confidence" factor. Find yours. Good luck.

Give the Uni knot or the San Diego jam knot a try. Besides being stronger overall, both cinch perfectly with flourocarbon.
