Had an awesome dealing with bass@falcon, well mostly his friend, he listed this rig on tff for a buddy, it was an odd deal as I was paying cash and the seller didn't have the titles yet from him paying it off. We met in San Antonio which was 4 hours for each of us. Gilbert allowed me to take the boat home just leaving him $500 earnest money down, and I was to mail him cashiers check when he received the titles from the bank. I was nervous about mailing the check before I had titles, Gilbert mailed the titles and let me hold them before I mailed him the check, all in all the boat was everything he described and actually went above and beyond to make the transaction simple... I did mail him the check for those who were curious! Here is the post, and he cut me a deal at 28,500.

Caveat Emptor...

Bad Transaction/Theft report for member CatfishAddiction.

On 6-14 I sent a USPS postal MO to member CatfishAddiction for a Penn 920 reel he had advertised in the trading post. On 6-17 he sent a PM stating he'd received the MO and would get the reel out that day or on 6-18 "at the latest".

And that's the last I've heard from him. I've sent him numerous, multiple e-mails and PM's with no response whatsoever. I even told him if he was having some sort of trouble or financial difficulty that that was cool as long as he would communicate with me and at least let me know that he was planning on sending the reel at some point. No response.

Even non-priority regular mail takes three days, at the latest, to go from his zip code to mine, so it's not like it's in transit or anything.

I can only assume at this point that he's either dead, in jail, or a thief who has no intention of sending the reel. I have no idea why he'd pull that over a paltry $25 reel, but who knows? At any rate, according to his posting history he hasn't posted anything since 6-15, but he does still have the classifieds for his other reels up. I would strongly advise anyone considering doing business with him to run the other way.

I sent two reels to Shawn, "the Tacklesmith" to be cleaned and repaired. About a week later was expecting a call wanting a credit card number to pay the bill so he could ship them back. To my surprise my reels arrived with the bill enclosed. I couldn't send a check fast enough.
