I have five 200e's, Two 50e's, and two 200d's. Wish I would have bought a couple 100d's back when they were on the market because although I love the e series, the d's are smoothe as glass and you can throw them a mile effortlessly, just a little big. The e's are really close just don't quite preform as well as the e's, however this is made up for by the small size. I had revo SX Gen. 2's so can not really comment on the gen. 3 but if they are anything like the Gen. 2's I had, they will turn you into a Shimano guy pretty quick.

I think it depends on what you plan to use them for. In my view, the Shimanos seem to be better for cranking, or at least thats all I can figure. I hear people talking about how the Revo's stink, etc.. But I had always had Shimanos then I tried a REVO Gen 3 SX - I really like it, so I bought another one and I like it too. I prefer these reels over my Curados and Chronarchs. But the main applications have been pitching/flipping Jigs, soft plastic swimbaits and throwing frogs. I find myself using the Shimano reels when I am throwing buzzbaits, spinner baits, or cranks. What I have done is spooled my Revo's with braid, and the Shimanos with mono - I don't know if this is just me, but I like the Revo's better with braid and the Shimanos better with mono

I have no complaints about any Shimano reel I've ever bought or been given, no reason to try other brands.
I am going to buy one just to find out for myself. Half y'all lie like hell and the other half are full of chit. www.anglersprotackle.com/store, A great locally owned business www.bcfw.org Bass Club of Fort Worth

I went ahead and bought both a Gen 3 Revo SX and a Chronarch 200 E7. I really want some Curado E series reels but I feel like everyone is asking close to regular price for them ($160). Are they still worth the $160?

Great choices! I have the same exact reels. I ended up adding a Chronarch 200E7 to my reels as opposed to the STX as mentioned earlier.
