I've used a lot of 79-99 dollor rods and the 7'1" 13 omen paired with a lews speed spool is by far my favorite. Wish I switched a long time ago.

Carbonlite BPS is the most sensitive rod I have had. Lost it in lake Gilmer and trying to save enough allowance for another. The 13 Omen rod I have is ok and Falcon Buccoo is decent as well. For the money Carbonlite is the best IMHO

Omen rods are tip heavy. Unbalanced . Good blank though!

Omen rods are tip heavy. Unbalanced . Good blank though! I agree. Just got a new Omen Black 6'10". Reel seat way too far down for decent balance. Main grip is too small diameter even for my small hands. Blank, guides, and craftsmanship is nice though.

There are quite a lot of options around the $100 price range. The better ones that are often mentioned are Abu Garcia Veritas, BPS Carbonlite, St. Croix Mojo Bass, 13 Fishing Omen, and Falcon BuCoo. They are all very good rods, and for a worm rod you'll probably be leaning toward a MHF rod. I have a Veritas, and while it has done a very good job being an all purpose worm rod, I am upgrading because I feel like this rod is too tip heavy. For a worm rod, you don't want a tip heavy rod because you'll probably be fishing with your tip up and so if you're fishing for a long period your hands will get tired quickly.

I'd like to know how the 13 omen stacks up against the bucoo. The omens seems to be getting great reviews from everyone but id like to hear someone who has fished both. The bucoo seems tuff to beat in the 100 dollar range.
