I have a old 5$half johnson and need to remove and replace the shift lever. Does not appear to held in place by any nut and bolt. Looks like it is pressed on . Have a replacement on order advice want to be ready to install replacement. Any adice wil be deeply appreciated.

Gary... Thank you for reply. I have a shifter coming from Twin City Outboard. Now All have to do is figure out how to remove broken one.
