Does anyone know if the transducer switch box from Lowrance will work with the Elite 7?

thanks for that bit of information about the lag time on the sonar, I wondered why they didn't line up with each other on the sonar viewer.

Got to take out my Elite 7 HDI for the first time today. This seems a bit noisy. Looking for possible methods of clearing it up from you veterans. My transducer is mounted on the transom. I ran dedicated power. All settings are factory.

. Try running your boat at 3 to 4 mph on your scanning. That should clear up your images some. Noise suppression on. Work with the contrast setting. I would also set the unit to run at 800 kHz. But from what I've read by "Fishton" on The Hull Truth forum, this unit does not produce as sharp an image as the HDS units with DownScan just so your sights are not set too high. But that's a pretty useable image you have there. I like those crappie on those pilings. .

Thanks doc, I think I may have spooked them when I went over with the outboard, cause I only caught a few when I trolled back to that spot. And Great info! I will try that and see how it works.
Should I adjust the speed setting?
There is an adjustment that is defaulted to "Fastest" and I wonder if I would get a more crisp image with a slower setting since the boat is traveling slowly. Am I totally off base with this theory?

What are the diagonal lines on the Structure Scan? Is that fish?

on my pic, yes those are fish. We caught and released about 200 sandies at that spot last Wednesday. Middle of the lake straight out from Twin Coves. No wind that afternoon and we had acres and acres of schooling sandies. We caught fish for a couple of hours and left when our arms got tired.

Wow!!! That explains the abundance of diagonal lines.
Sounds like it was fun.
Very nice pic.

Hey guys, this may be a strange question, but here's the deal. I just bought my first bass boat on a tight budget because I wanted to pay cash for a fishable boat. I found an old 85 Skeeter with a 120 Johnson, but the main selling points were the LMS 520c and the Minn Kota Riptide trolling motor. Well, the 4th trip out, after fixing an unbelievable amount of [censored] on this "ready to fish" boat, the fishfinder puked. It will power up if I hold the power button while slapping the unit, but then it immediately powers off. I can't afford a high-dollar unit, and don't really need one, as I'm a strictly recreational fisherman and mainly chase crappie or catfish. What I need to know is if anyone knows what head units are compatible with my existing 'ducer and puck? For what most folks want for a replacement 520c on eBay, I could go by a complete new unit, but I don't want to spend that much and have to jack with changing everything.
Never mind, right after I posted, I decided it wasn't any good the way it was, so I took the back off of the unit, re-soldered the connection where the ground wire connects to the board, and it powers up like a champ (there was a visible hairline crack). I powered it up and beat the snot out of it with no problems whatsoever, so I'll take it out after work tomorrow and see if it'll find a fish.

These HDS Gen2 units can be pretty awesome. I just hope one of these days that I can figure out how to operate the thing

My HDS-7 says the water temperature is 124 degrees. Any way to correct it? Thanks
