Yea that's what im afraid of lol. Have always wante to hit the lower red at the gorge heard some big ones go up it to spawn out of the big river. I have had some great days in July down there for that matter. I figured some big fish should be moving into the tributaries of the Conejo as well around that time I love catching big fish and small water. It always makes it a challenge especially if there are Cutbanks and lots of tree roots. I am also looking at hitting the dream Stream again I have fished it in July but never in the fall.

If you're talking about the kokanees out of Blue Mesa, also be prepared for the trout fishing to be a little off, at least in my experience. On the main rivers (Gunnison and East) the salmon are migrating up, I couldn't drift a hole without foul-hooking them or false takes. Fun for a bit but then annoying. Unless you can catch some dry fly action, which I wasn't able to at the time. The Taylor is my favorite river in that area anyway though.

I see other posts say the same..... Kokanee from Blue Mesa in the Gunnison and East Rivers. Lots of smaller Kokes in the South PLatte out of ElevenMile reservoir too. I love the Hog Trough and the red fish - my largest so far was only 20", but I saw several 24+landed. Personally I like the S. PLatte because the browns in there can go 24+ and 8lb+.
