If you like the smell of rotten eggs I would say go fish below the spillway. Wear your gas mask because it is bad. My daughter and I rushed up there yesterday for the 1 to 7 release. We were excited to fish running water only to be let down by the stench. Ended up fishing on the dam side along the rocks and caught a few dinks and smallies along the rocks. Always a fun day to be out. Good luck.

When the water below the dam gets that milky look to it, it stinks and the fish you catch have the same odor. Wait until the stinky water has gone away. It appears Texoma should be getting a tad of fresh water from the heavy rains in Oklahoma this past week. Both the Red and Washita are showing a slight rise. It appears they have increased the amount of water being discharged when the generators are on as well. The last several weeks the water elevation has just increased from about 501 to 505 or 506 max. Right now it is at 509. I just checked and it shows they are running two generators right now.

I've been once this week made a md day trip Wednesday caught 3 dinks raised one good fish free lining a large brim... Bite was slow I caught my smaller fish on a H20 jerk bait but I was looking for a bigger bite so I went and picked up some brim first bait hit te water and I had a 15# class fish roll on up and eat it. I was usin a circle hook let it run but it turned back towards me and I didn't know it so when I started reelin down on her I pulled the bait right out of her mouth... I might make it out one more time before I get sent back to Midland but I've just been enjoying some lake time with friends and catching a few schoolies wading around Willow springs..
