I'm new to the area and looking for a nice place to fish with my son . I don't have a boat so I have to fish the bank. I would really like to catch some Reds. I've looked on google maps and the Christmas Bay and Chocolate Bay look accessible. I would really appreciate any advice you could give. I don't expect anyone to give up their honey hole, just a point in the right direction.

Try the jetties or down by San Luis Pass. I think the water is too churned up and it's too hot to do well right now though.

Or go straight down 45S until U hit the beach.
There are many places to fit within one hour drive.

It is now green to the beach. Try the surf anywhere between Surfside and Galveston. Other people will be there. Watch them and do what they do.
